The Art Kitchen is going to move to a more loosely based collective of folks who like making/art/craft etc. We’ll have tubs of art for workshops, demonstrations and outreach but until a group of people want to step up, the communal space will be on hiatus.
So, we’ve created a google group for anyone to organize classes/events and the like:

We received many postcards from around the world (the first two we received were from Spain and France) and had a lovely opening reception last Thursday with a “make your own mail art/valentine” station, red wine, and lots of candy hearts. To see images of all the artwork please click here.

Pumpkin Carving Contest and Benefit
October 19, 2011 § Leave a Comment
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY (2pm-7pm)
Homegrown Alabama and the Alabama Art Kitchen are joining together to present a Pumpkin Carving Contest Extravaganza! All we need now are the carvers- could that be you? You can either bring your own pumpkin to carve or pay $5 to carve one of ours. (To use one of ours we need to hear back by Wednesday 10/19 to get an idea of number of pumpkins). There will be an adult and kids contest separately. All the pumpkins will be auctioned off to benefit Homegrown Alabama and the Kitchen. So if you’re not into carving you can come and get one of the amazing artists pumpkins to proudly display for Halloween (while supporting our awesome organizations)!
