“Performing as a duo they concentrate on investigating the possibilities of free improvisation through their combined experiences working within a wide variety of improvised and composed musical settings over the years. Drawing on numerous influences including: American and European free jazz, experimental rock, free improvisation, soul and funk as well as 20th century contemporary music and visual art, they combine their creative energies to further explore and assemble sound in an improvised context. Tim and Ken aim to make each performance unique by tirelessly searching for new ways to keep the music fresh and encouraging each other to play beyond their potential.”

Thursday July 7th from 6-9 pm is the opening reception of the show Saints & Stamps by Miriam Norris. This beautiful show of found images and incredibly detailed embroidery will be up for all of July. Come see this amazing artwork!
We’ve got one private studio space available for rent at the Alabama Art Kitchen. It’s only $100/month and includes Art Kitchen membership (with all the perks such as supplies/tools, discounts, and access to this amazing group of folks)! The room is the size of the gallery and divided into 4 sections. It’s a great deal to be part of our awesome community and have a space to create your things. We all need a room (or space) of one’s own. Please email alabamaartkitchen@gmail.com to see the space or with any questions
Please submit to the juried show in August with the theme Hot/Cold. See call for entries below for more details.
